Border Kindness is pleased to present, Us: An Art Event to Benefit Border Kindness. The show is a collection of work from thirty contemporary artists with proceeds benefiting Border Kindness programs in Mexicali, Mexico. The exhibit is open on April 16 & 17, 2022 at Charlie James Gallery 2 located at 961 Chung King Road in Los Angeles. The event’s opening reception is Saturday evening, April 16, from 6-9pm.

An exciting and diverse group of artists have donated work making the exhibit truly one of a kind. Artists include, Felipe Baeza, Devendra Banhart, Danie Cansino, Aaron De La Cruz, Daniel Gibson, Glenn Hardy, Jr. Salomón Huerta, Samuel Levi Jones, Nery Gabriel Lemus, Manuel López, Narsiso Martinez, Patrick Martinez, Devin Reynolds, Betsabeé Romero, and Shizu Saldamando.

Border Kindness launched grass roots community-based response programs on the United States – Mexico border in 2018, and quickly developed into a globally-recognized humanitarian aide organization. Border Kindness’ work has received significant media coverage, including CBS, CNN, PBS, NPR, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal. The organization has been acknowledged on social media by community leaders, influencers, and activists, including Amnesty International, Eva Longoria, Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, The National Basketball Players Association, and more.

Proceeds from US: AN ART EVENT TO BENEFIT BORDER KINDNESS will provide funding to support Border Kindness Children’s Empowerment Center, a comprehensive program for highly vulnerable children in Mexicali, Mexico. Border Kindness Children’s Empowerment Center provides asylum-seeking and local children with access to food, medical & dental care, clothing, technology, and tutors, as well as art materials, and art classes and experiences.
